Microneedling

The MD Aesthetics uses SkinPen by Bellus Medical.

It is the first microneedling device cleared by the FDA, clinically proven to safely and effectively treat facial acne scars for ages 22 and up. Microneedling consists of performing micro-perforations using SkinPen to which a single-use tip is attached. This tip is composed of micro-needles that can descend into the dermis to variable depths depending on area and treatment.

The perforations allow:

  • The penetration into the skin of active ingredients allows deep hydration
  • The stimulation of fibroblasts used for the production of collagen and elastin fibers

What are the benefits of SkinPen microneedling

  1. SkinPen reduces age-relation skin problems

Wrinkles and fine lines are normal signs of aging. However, the rate at which they occur varies from one person to another.

Age-related skin signs sometimes can damage a person’s self-confidence, self-esteem, and body image. Luckily, SkinPen microneedling can do wonders for your aging skin. You see, collagen production tends to drop with age. As a result, your skin loses its elasticity and integrity, leading to wrinkles.

By stimulating the basal membrane to generate new skin cells and promoting collagen deposition, SkinPen microneedling may just be the solution to all your skin problems.

Most people who tried SkinPen microneedling reported significant benefits when it comes to aging signs.

  1. SkinPen tightens your skin

Sagging skin can add many years to your chronological age. This, of course, will mess with your self-confidence.

With SkinPen microneedling, you can say goodbye to your loose skin. This procedure does only stimulate the synthesis of collagen but also elastin. The latter is indispensable for holding your skin together, giving you younger, tighter skin.

  1. SkinPen reduces the size of your pores

The size of your pores is a primary factor that determines your predisposition to acne and blackheads. Add to that the unsightly appearance of large pores, and you can see why most people dislike them.

Fortunately, SkinPen microneedling aids with this issue by reducing the size of your pores and removing all the toxins that sit within them. Additionally, microneedling may clear out your skin from opportunistic bacteria that trigger acne, furuncles, and carbuncles.

  1. SkinPen minimizes the appearance of your scars

This benefit is not commonly discussed, which is a shame! Microneedling can actually reduce the appearance of your scars. Whether they are the result of acne, stretch marks, or burns, SkinPen microneedling may help.

One of the primary cells that mediate scar formation is fibroblasts. Well, guess what? SkinPen microneedling directly targets this cell type to enhance the appearance of your scars.

  1. SkinPen microneedling for hair loss

SkinPen microneedling gained a lot of traction over the past few years, especially in the field of hair loss and age-related skin deterioration.

Scientists believe that microneedling can be an effective alternative treatment for androgenetic alopecia. This works by inflicting microscopic injuries on the scalp, stimulating collagen production. Besides that, microneedling can upregulate the activity of stem cells, which sit at the bottom of the epidermis. Thus, hair follicles will start growing once again.

  1. SkinPen is a minimally-invasive procedure

While this may not seem like an impressive benefit, just think of all the potential complications that stem from surgical cosmetic procedures.

Using SkinPen microneedling to promote collagen production and help your skin do its thing is one of the safest cosmetic procedures.
